TCS has listed its company o NSE & BSE in the year 2004.
In the year 2004 TCS stock price was in the range of ₹ 119 to ₹ 167.
Lets say you bought TCS shares for ₹ 130 [ average price ].
If you had invested ₹ 100000 in TCS at the price of Rs 130, you would get 770 shares
So in the year 2004, you had 770 Shares in your Demat Account.

In the year 2006 TCS announced 1:1 bonus ratio, 2009 1:1 bonus and in 2018 again 1:1 bonus ratio.
After 1st Bonus in 2006 [ 1:1 ]
1:1 bonus means, you will get 1 extra share for each share you hold in your demat account.
So your 770 stocks would become : 1540 Stocks
After the TCS bonus announcement in 2006, your stock count is 1540.
After 2nd Bonus in 2009 [ 1:1 ]
TCS has announced 2nd bonus in 1:1 , in the year 2009.
Before 2009 bonus announcement, you hold 1540 TCS shares in your account.
After 2009 bonus announcement , your stock count would be 3080.
So the number of TCS shares in your account is “3080”
After 3rd Bonus in 2018 [ 1:1 ]
Before the bonus in 2018, you hold 3080 TCS shares in your account.
After the bonus shares were issued, your TCS shares count would be 3080X2 = 6160.
Now lets see the math…..
As on writing this article [ February 2024], TCS share was trading at ₹ 4120.
6160 Shares X ₹ 4120 = 2.5 Crores [ Approximately ].
So ₹ 1 Lakh invested in 2004 in TCS company turned into 2.5 crores.

What if you had invest ₹ 1 Lakh or ₹ 10000 in 2011 in TCS Company ?
I have seen many people asking this particular query i.e. ” 1 Lakh investment in TCS in 2011″ What would be the absolute value now ?
In the year 2011, TCS stock was trading in the range ₹ 450 to ₹ 580.
Let’s say, you bought TCS share for 500 Rs.
For ₹ 1 Lakh you would get 200 Shares each at ₹ 500.
So, in the year 2011 you hold 200 TCS shares in your account.
After 2011 TCS has announced bonus only once i.e. in the year 2018 TCS issued bonus in the ratio of 1:1.
For every TCS share you hold, company would give you 1 extra share.
After the Bonus issue in 2018 :
After the bonus issue [1:1], 200 shares would become 400 Shares.
In the year 2024 February, TCS stock is trading at 4120 Rs.
So your Wealth Would be : 400 Shares X ₹ 4120 = 16 Lakhs Fifty Thousand [ 16.5 Lakhs ].
So ₹ 1 Lakh invested in 2011 would be ₹ 16.5 Lakhs now.
₹ Ten Thousand invested in 2011 would be now 1.6 Lakhs.
